buoyancy - or how to float completely

BUOYANCY deals with changed perceptions of space, especially while underwater. Several phenomena were most striking to me: firstly the capacity of the body to float, in this case the human body and the feeling of weightlessness and to be navigating through space. The main impulse for this movement comes from your own breath and the control over this tool of navigation.
Secondly the change of perspective is changing the layer of perception. The view out of the water with the refraction of the light, makes lights beams and reflections visible that are usually not detectable for the human eye.
Last but not least the sensation of hearing is altered due to the pressure underwater. We are able to hear our own body. The video installation is projected in a small room that enables to feel underwater yourself. The video is shown in a loop, filmed in the Pacific Ocean at the coastline of Sri Lanka.
